With its new original TV shows, Paramount+ is booming. It is difficult to keep up with fierce competition such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. However, with episodes like Star Trek: Picard, The Offer, Tulsa King, and 1883, Paramount+ is gaining traction. On the other hand, if you’re a Paramount+ subscriber, you should definitely watch Why Women Kill.
This star-studded cast, including Lucy Liu, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Alexandra Daddario, Jack Davenport, Allison Tolman, and Lana Parrilla, will keep viewers on edge with suspense and narrative twists. Few know about this TV show’s hidden gem. And this is why Why Women Kill show is worth watching: Brilliant characters with incredible developments, amazing costumes and scenery, and a little murder.
What’s happening in the show?
The show follows a group of women who lived in separate mansions throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. Set in 1949, 1963, 1984, and 2019, the series follows the mansion’s residents’ lives and betrayals, frequently with tragic consequences. Marc Cherry, Desperate Housewives creator, was showrunner and executive producer.
Similar to previous popular psychological thrillers with strong female protagonists, Why Women Kill has maintained its audience’s attention and suspense all season long. The presentation of each plot in the same house at different points in history added to the show’s appeal. The first season’s main questions were who died and why.
‘Why Women Kill’ Has Style to Spare
Everyone is dressed to the nines during both seasons. Marc Cherry, the creator, and Janie Bryant, the costume designer, executed this flawlessly. Everyone is dressed for their era, in magnificent clothing that exactly reflects their personality. Aside from the personalities, the styles and fashions in season one always indicate which era is being referenced. Beth-Ann typically wears a 1950s-style dress, Simone in an over-the-top garment with puffy shoulders, and Taylor in a modern business suit.
And, in Season 2, Alma utilizes her clothes (or rather her neighbors’ nice clothes) to fit in and represent who she wants to be, as does Rita. Rita didn’t have much growing up, so she utilizes her clothing to be coveted by others, as a form of protection against those who want to ruin her.
Why Women Kill Season 3 Canceled at Paramount+
The show’s season 3 has been cancelled at Paramount+. Despite a third-season renewal in December 2021, the program has since been cancelled. Season 2 aired from June to July of 2021, following the show’s 2019 debut when Paramount+ was still known as CBS All Access.
Paramount+ has decided to not proceed with Season 3 of ‘Why Women Kill,’ according to a statement from a representative from the studio. “For two unforgettable seasons, we’d like to express our gratitude to our wonderful writers, cast, and crew, as well as our wonderful producers and executive producer Marc Cherry, as well as our wonderful partners at CBS Studios and Imagine Television Studios.”
